Dear Parents,

Here at Community, we want to be your partner in creating a space where you and your family can find comfort and rest during these uneasy times. COVID-19 is causing anxiety and disruptions, but this does not defeat God's work in the world and in our youth group. The small group leaders and I have come up with a new schedule to stay connected as a youth group and encourage each other to grow in faith.

Group Me- We will be sending out a Group Me chat for the whole youth group and for small groups. This will give a space for youth to talk back and forth without having to have each other's numbers. The youth can receive this by text, but having the app makes following the conversation easier, so please have your youth download the Group Me app in the App Store or the Google Play Store. They can also message me individually on the app, so I can support each of them during this time.

Mondays- Motivation Mondays I will go live on all our social media platforms at noon to offer short devotionals of encouragement. This will also be recorded and sent out so even our youth without social media will be able to see it.

Tuesday- This will be what we call our connect day! Each week, I will ask the youth to send in a photo of something going on in their world by sharing on the youth Group Me. This will cover a variety of things like their favorite snack or activity.

Wednesdays- Wednesday is going to be our Prayer night. I am going to ask our youth to send in a prayer request through the all youth Group Me that can be shared with the group. At 8 pm, I will be praying over the requests and the youth will be invited to join me wherever they are to pray.

Thursday- This is going to be our small group night at 7 pm. We are going to be using a program called Zoom, which is a video conferencing software. Zoom can be used on any device with the ability to call or internet devices with a video camera (audio and/or video). On these nights, the small group leaders and I will bring the small groups together to check-in. This will be an important time for the youth to really share how are they are doing. Tutorials and links set up so that everyone can have access.

Sunday- We will have a thirty-minute worship time at 7 pm where we will do a short game, a message, and discussion time. For this, we will be following the High School series called Happy Easter. We will also be doing this through Zoom, so it will be live and interactive.

I want to do everything possible to keep our youth connected during this time of social distancing. Links for the Zoom meetings will be coming out soon. We will kick this all off Sunday night with worship and the rest of the schedule will kick off from there. Please let your youth know I am praying for them and am here for them.

As always if you have any questions comments or concerns please let me know!
