General UMC Conversation Update
On January 26th, during the CUMC Year-in-Review, Pastor Curtis updated the church and answered a few questions on the future of the United Methodist Church. To help people understand the current conversation, Pastor Adam Hamilton of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection shared his thoughts on the current issues:
1. Why remain in the United Methodist Church?
2. Love of Scripture
3. Committed to Christ
4. Human Sexuality
5. A Future with Hope
6. Moving Forward with the United Methodist Church
Most of these topics were mentioned in a letter to Pastor Adam from Pastor Rob Renfroe. Pastor Renfroe is the President of the Good News Organization and calls for church division over human sexuality. The General Conference of the United Methodist Church will meet in May 2024 to make decisions on the future of the UMC.
